If you’re not familiar with River Island, then you better listen up!

River Island is a British high street fashion brand that is stocked in over 30 countries around the world, and is also widely available online through their online store and e-retailers like ASOS.

The latest River Island campaign is absolutely hilarious (I actually LOL’d in real life whilst watching it), and I may or may have practiced some of the dance moves in the video.

Check out the video, then head on over to the River Island Facebook Page where you can put your own face onto the dancing models!

Have fun!

Amongst all the MBFWA craziness, I still managed to get myself up to the Shangri-La hotel to view some of the designers’ collections that were each showing in the comfort of their own private showrooms.

Although I was utterly exhausted by the end of the afternoon, it was still a treat to meet such beautiful and inspiring people, plus also get to play around with some incredible collections. The labels that stood out to me the most included Benah, Carly Paiker, Sylvie Markovina and Watson X Watson – they were all such a treat to visit, and were very friendly and hospitable ladies too!

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for these labels if you haven’t already – they’re definitely set to impress.

The last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia started off bright and early at 9am with Suboo Resort‘s MBFWA debut.

I found myself 47 floors up above Sydney’s CBD at The Summit – a restaurant that boasts a tremendous 360 degree view over Sydney, which is where the show was held. Seeing the golden morning light over Sydney was stunning to say at the least – I don’t ever recall being up that high before in my life (besides being on a plane, of course).

Prior to the show, all guests were treated to breakfast and coffee/tea which boy, was I glad to see after a long week at MBFWA.

My personal favourites from the collection were the mesh and neon pieces (see image 4). Definitely already keen for Summer even though Winter hasn’t officially begun yet.

Wearing: Scarf Print Bomber, c/o Boohoo Australia. Skirt, American Apparel. Sweater, T by Alexander Wang. Sneakers, Converse. Necklace, custom made by Sadie.

Spent a bit of the afternoon catching up with Mel over coffee/tea at Kawa in Surry Hills. It felt like I hadn’t seen her in the longest amount of time, where in fact, it hasn’t even been a couple of weeks. Crazy.

The scarf print bomber jacket I am wearing was one of the pieces that I chose out using the generous $100 credit that Boohoo Australia kindly gifted us at their official launch dinner a few weeks back. Definitely one of my favourite things in the wardrobe at the moment.

Prior to the Bless’ed Are The Meek show on Friday at MBFWA, I caught some behind the scenes footage, which consisted mostly of details of hair, make up and garments from the SS 12/13 collection.

Sadly, this is my last video for MBFWA – however I guarantee you that video making will be something that you will be seeing a lot more often on my blog.

During MBFWA, the lovely team at Georg Jensen and Vogue Australia kindly hosted a media and VIP event held at their Castlereagh Street store in the CBD. The event was to showcase the artworks by scandinavian needlework artist, Inge Jacobsen, in which were used for the Georg Jensen Autumn/Winter 11/12 campaign.

Unfortunately, I was only able to enjoy the first half of the evening as I had to rush off to see An Ode To Noone’s show that same evening. Its times like these where I wish that cloning yourself was actually possible – it would make being in two places at once so much easier.

Apologies in advance for the picture heavy post – picking out a few looks from five different designers really does add up!

The New Generation One show was the first of the group shows that I attended at MBFWA. It was a refreshing experience as there were not one, two or three, but FIVE different designers that displayed their collections in the show. I can tell you that it was nice to sit down and enjoy a long-er show after standing and walking around all day/week!

As you can see, each designer had their own distinctive designs – and I so happened to enjoy each and every five of them… however, if you were to ask me which of the five collections were my favourite; I would have to say that I enjoyed Tovah’s neon sports-luxe pieces the most, although they would’ve only just taken the lead in my books, as each collection somehow managed to steal a little bit of my heart away…

We Are Handsome‘s show at MBFWA was definitely one of my favourites this year. The prints, colours and even icicles (as you can see) made for an extremely visually pleasing experience.

The Spring Summer 12/13 collections consisted of three different print stories: The Matriarch, The Streets and The Enchanted, with my favourite print being The Vacation. I loved everything about this look – the print itself is so ideal for Summer, but the fact that it was styled with matching Mezi earrings, as well as a sunset yellow icicle was just the icing on the cake!

The Matriarch, which features The Vacation, is described as:

The Matriarch is strong, she is elegant, she is confident, she is a force to be reckoned with. When she enters a room, everyone looks. When she speaks, everyone listens.

Talk about a confidence booster, or what?

A very special mention to the Mezi and The Dreamery girls for making the whole WAH experience possible. It was so lovely to meet you all in person!

PS. Don’t forget to watch the final walk of the WAH show!
