As the title of this post suggests – yes, this is what I wore to Homebake on Saturday afternoon. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, let me give you a brief rundown on what Homebake actually is: an annual music, film, comedy and arts festival that features a variety of attractions and activities including live stand up comedy; food stalls and markets; both Australian and international music acts and lots more.
When I arrived at Homebake, I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I have never been a huge listener of local music, so I had only heard of a couple of the artists who were scheduled to play on the day. Amongst those was San Cisco, who was the first act we got a glimpse of on the main stage. Although I really only knew one of their songs, their sound was definitely right up my alley and not to mention, damn right catchy too!
It was unbelievably warm on the day – OK, maybe not as warm as it was last weekend, but still – so I was glad to have worn something as comfortable and loose fitting as I did. I may have not fit in with the crowd at Homebake (standard uniform a slight improvement from Stereosonic, however crop tops and short shorts were still seen in an abundance) but a wise man once said: why fit in when you can stand out?
