All photography taken by and remains the property of Scott London
Burning Man has been in the top five of my bucket list for a while now, however when I discovered these amazing photographs that were captured by Scott London, it reminded me again of why I need to experience Burning Man in the flesh, at least once in my life.
Now because I have never actually been to Burning Man, it’s a bit hard for me to explain to you what it actually is. Scott has been documenting Burning Man for the past eight years of his life, and he explains it to be:
“The event is a week-long celebration of free-form creativity and radical self- expression held each summer in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert. Burning Man is hard to describe. It’s not quite an art festival, not quite a desert rave, and not quite a social experiment — but something of all three.“
What appeals to me most about Burning Man is it’s extremeness. Where and when on this planet will you ever see 50,000 people come together for a week and build a town from scratch? Not to mention all the crazy outfits and custom-made, over-the-top vehicles! It’s all of this, and the idea of escaping to Black Rock Desert, getting amongst the week-long development and becoming whoever you want to be for a week that seems to really excite me.
